your generosity will make an

impact on young people’s lives

Listen to James’ story

“I genuinely don't think I'd be sat here or even a Christian if it wasn't bridge the gap…

…what makes bridge the gap so special and different is the community

…James before BTG was extremely self-centred, James after BTG I feel like I'm just a better person I'm nicer, Kinder and I’m more generous”

Why give to us?

We’re tackling a Mental health Crisis

Suicide is the main cause of death in young people under the age of 35 in the UK. Loneliness is a silent pandemic in this age group, with young men especially living in a friendship recession as 25% of them admit to having no close friends.

Christians are increasingly losing confidence in sharing faith to young people with digital content taking that space and swept into our culture with self harm, cyber bullying and anxiety all increasing. Young people are one of the hardest groups to reach with the Gospel. Half of UK churches have 10 or fewer children and the average age at which children stop attending church is 14 years old.

We’re changing the narrative

A lack of the right kind of role models can be crippling as young people become adults, start careers and families but are unable to see a different way of doing life. Jesus is the ultimate role model. Churches are uniquely equipped to draw alongside young people navigating the turbulent journey into adulthood, yet only 27% of them feel equipped to work with young people. Churches need our help.

We’re creating role models

What are We doing…

Building communities

We are passionate about people, not football. We are in the business of relationships. We are intentional about listening, loving and creating a safe space where 11-30 year olds can be accepted no matter who they are, what they’ve done or what they believe - on and off the football pitch. By 2029 we will create 150 football sites across the UK so anyone who wants to join our community can reach one, taking our engagement to over 50,000 people.

Transforming lives

We are on the front line of evangelism for 11 - 30 year olds. We build welcoming spaces where people can open up about their feelings and struggles. We believe the Alpha course is one of the best tools to introduce people to the Christian faith. We are one of Alpha’s official international ministry collaborations and their logo is displayed on the bib of every player across the UK. What we do works - out of the 63% of our players who said they have been invited to do an Alpha course, 61% accepted!

Developing leaders

The harvest is plentiful and the workers are few. By partnering with local churches who are rooted in serving their community we recruit and develop BTG leaders, equipping and releasing them into the mission field. We believe leaders will develop leaders so we can see generations of people come to know Jesus through football. By 2029 we want to have 1000 new mission-focused church leaders throughout the UK.
